Youth Volunteer Program

Anime Shogatsu is introducing a new Youth Volunteer Program! If you are 16 or 17 years old and want to gain volunteer experience at our event, you may sign up to be a Youth Volunteer. There are limited spots available. This program is an excellent way for students to gain community service hours. To apply, please provide a scanned document indicating your parent/guardian’s permission with their contact information. We look forward to your application!

High School Community Service Requirement

Ontario high schools require students to perform 40 hours of volunteer community service in order to graduate, and we are often asked if volunteering for Anime Shogatsu can count towards those hours.

We’ve been told that various schools might say NO, while others have been allowed to count them.

Unfortunately, our one day event does not have the time or resources to figure out what schools do or don’t count them. If anyone wants us to sign the Community Service Hours document, we’d have no problem doing so as long as they really worked the hours, BUT it is up to each student/volunteer to find out beforehand whether the hours will be counted or not.
