Formed in 2016, ACT102 (pronounced A.C.T. ten two) is Toronto’s J-pop maid idol group. ACT102 stands for Angel’s Crown Toronto, and was first created as the dance team at a local maid cafe. The group’s mission is to bring virtue and happiness to those they meet, through their shared love of dancing and performing.

Velvet Performs at Anime Shogatsu 2020

Enter Velvet, an open concept idol duo! The ideology of our duo is to perform in a number of roles without limits. For our first ever performance, we’ll be dancing as our original characters, Crystal Luce, and Astoria. Velvet looks forward to starting this journey together and feeling all our hearts dance as one! We’re super excited to welcome Alt3red who will be performing LIVE at Anime Shogatsu 2020. Be sure to see Alt3red’s performance this January 18th 2020 at the at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre!

Alt3red is dance group that blurs the boundaries of gender and genre. We cover a variety of styles, but remember that no matter what we do, we’re always thinking of you!

Beyblade Shogatsu 2020

Join us on Saturday, January 18th, 2020 for a Toronto Beyblade Burst Tournament at Anime Shogatsu for the fifth straight year!

Beyblade Shogatu Returns to Anime Shogatsu! Participate in the tournament and go head to head with other Bladers, or join in the Free Play Fun All day!

Our room will be open for the majority of convention hours on Saturday at Anime Shogatsu. We’ll be running one tournament with the remainder of time dedicated to free play for new and intermediate Bladers.

Bear Sailor Moon’s Lip Sync Battle

Anime Speedtune

Get ready to play! Anime Speedtune returns to Anime Shogatsu 2020! Think you have what it takes to win this grueling game of anime music knowledge? Lets find out January 18th at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre!

Returning to Anime Shogatsu for the 2020 con season, Speedtune has been the gold standard of anisong gameshows since 2013. Choose a themed topic, then be the first player to buzz in when you hear the music. But that’s not all! Some special topics will present video, and guesses must be written down! There will be 2 open games, followed by a grand final for the top players.

Toronto Go Club

GO, an ancient game of skill and strategy for all ages. Everyone is welcome to visit the GO tables, 11AM-5PM, to learn and play.

GO is an ancient Chinese board game of surrounding territory. Representatives from the GO playing community will be at hand to teach and play against. Everyone attending Anime Shogatsu is welcome to visit the GO tables. The GO tables will run from 11AM to 5PM. (Check torontogoclub.org for places to play in Toronto and canadiango.org for places to play in Canada.)
